HORSHAM, Pa. (December 18, 2007) - Human Resource Executive® magazine today announced its inaugural HR in Healthcare™ Conference and Expo. The event will be held at NY HR Week™, scheduled for April 16-17, 2008, at the Hilton New York in New York City.

The HR in Healthcare™ Conference is the premier event that showcases visionary leadership, world-class HR talent and leading-edge healthcare HR practices. HR in Healthcare™ is designed for executives, top HR officers, and vice presidents of Nursing and Patient Care at hospitals, specialty clinics and extended care facilities, as well as healthcare consultants. Attendees will gain insight on how to build tomorrow’s most critical competencies and capacities within human resources departments and improve the financial, organizational and clinical performance of their entire institution.

The two-day event will feature 11 panel discussions and seminars specifically focused on healthcare HR. Among the highlights: “A CEO’s Passion: Talent Management & Succession Planning at Memorial Health System,” presented by Healthcare Performance Solution’s founding partner Tom Olivo and Richard K. Eitel, chief executive officer of Memorial Health System. Attendees will learn how talent management and succession planning drive employee development at all levels of the hospital and how implementing an automated performance management system provided the ability to monitor the depth of the organization’s talent pool at any time.

Other sessions will highlight how Scripps Health integrated performance-based online measurement systems in their screening and selection processes to help put the right people in the right roles, and how Parish Medical Center’s “Radical Loving Care” approach to engaging physicians earned them a “number one healing hospital” award from Baptist Healing Trust.

An esteemed advisory council, consisting of prominent forward-thinking HR leaders in healthcare, played an integral role in developing the conference program. The council includes Victor V. Buzachero, corporate senior vice president, HR, Scripps Health; Jon C. Cecil, chief HR officer, Lee Memorial Health System; Margaret Dyekman, president and chief operating officer, WageWatch; John F. Lacy, senior vice president, HR, Methodist Health System; Tom Olivo, founding partner, Healthcare Performance Solutions; and William C. Powanda, vice president, Griffin Hospital. They teamed with Timothy McDonough, director of HR conference programs for Human Resource Executive® Conferences, to present the one and only healthcare-focused conference designed specifically for senior HR leaders.

McDonough commented, “Healthcare is one of the most dynamic sectors, with unique HR requirements. The HR in Healthcare™ Conference will give attendees the information they need to create effective HR services that support organizational change and attract top talent.”

The complete conference program is available at www.HRinHealthcare.com. Conference attendees registering prior to February 22, 2008, receive an exclusive $200 Pre-Early Bird discount.
